For the first time in the history of Westport Camogie Club our players have won the Mayo Feile! It truly was a historic occasion and work hard for by a dedicated group of players and coaches.
Westport’s first match was against Castlebar and it was a hard fought battle but they came out on top which was a great start to the competition.
Next up were Na Brideoga and this was a battle. It ended being a scoreless draw which showed just how evenly matched the teams were, and set everyone up for a great final between the same two teams.
The final was a great match, each and every player on both teams played their hearts out. The Westport defence were brilliant keeping all Na Brideoga scores out, while the midfield and forward players were taking every scoring opportunity that came their way.
It was the first time that Westport have claimed the Mayo Feile title and it was a proud day for the club! Massive congratulations to all players involved and their coaches
